Medical Admissions 2017 to be based on NEET only – For the academic year 2017, National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) acts as a single entrance examination for all those medical aspirants who are willing to get admission for medical programs like MBBS / BDS in well-known colleges across the country. Even parents are worried about this last minute changes in the weightage issued to NEET for undergraduate medical admissions.
And now according to the recent reports, the Directorate of Medical Education and Research has made the assurance that the medical admission would be completely based on the NEET scores. As per this latest notification released by the CBSE and Medical Council India’s regulations, 2017 medical admission will be fully conducted on the basis of NEET scores.
The director of the Supreme Court, Pravin Shingare, shared his views on NEET 2017 that this single entrance examination would not correct choice to decide the fate of students who will be appeared for the medical examination. However, since 2017’s medical admission notifications are already out, the statement cannot be applicable to this academic year.
Earlier this year the medical applicants were restricted to attempt the NEET (UG) 2017 at only three attempts just to limit the thousands of medical students who keep applying for the examination. The Medical Council of India has given the clarification that, the candidate’s appearance in NEET 2017 will be recorded as first attempt irrespective of their last attempts in AIPMT/ NEET 2016. Reportedly, the applicants who were confined to fill up NEET Application form according to three attempts rule now can be able to apply for NEET 2017.
The examination authority has already revealed the online application for the NEET 2017 which will be open until March 1st, 2017 across 80 cities of the country. Candidates will get the provision to download their NEET 2017Admit Card from the first week of April month. CBSE being the conducting body of NEET has scheduled to organize the entrance examination Sunday, 7th of May, 2017. The NEET score is very much helpful to medical/dental colleges which run with the official approval of Dental Council of India/ Medical Council of India (MCI).
